The Castle of Bova

The X-XI century castle, now reduced to ruins, stands on top of a rocky spur from which it dominates the village. Little is known about it but it was founded directly on the rock. The remaining walls are on three floors: at the bottom there is a hall accessed from a corridor covered by a wooden floor, above some rooms, on the upper floor there is a small chapel with a rectangular plan. On the top of the castle is still detectable the footprint of a foot, "the footprint of the queen" which, according to an ancient legend, is that of the queen who lived in the castle, who had her foot engraved as a symbol of her power.
