The "Tazio Nuvolari" Museum is dedicated to the memory of the unforgettable champion that Ferdinand Porsche defined "the greatest driver of the past, present and future". Nuvolari (Castel d’Ario 1892 – Mantua 1953) raced over 350 motorbike and car races between 1920 and 1950, obtaining no less than 161 victories (91 absolute and 70 in class), 2 titles of European champion, 5 titles of Italian champion, 5 international speed records.
The Museum collects the trophies, plaques and cups won by the "Flying Mantuan" as well as a rich collection of gold medals, evidence of a sporting career and a life that has become legend.
Of great impact are the personal effects of the champion: helmets, gloves, glasses, overalls and the inseparable yellow jersey. Also in evidence are posters, handwritten letters, certificates, honours, documents. Among these, the telegram sent by Gabriele D’Annunzio after his victory in the 1932 Targa Florio, accompanied by the reproduction of the famous golden turtle with the dedication "To the fastest man, the slowest animal". Original vintage films projected on the big screen and an exhibition of precious scale models allow you to relive the excitement of motor racing in the first half of the twentieth century.
