One of the many Grails scattered on the Italian territory is located in Mantua, in the Basilica of St. Andrew. The religious building is a wonderful work of Leon Battista Alberti, completed, however, only in the seventeenth century. Inside the Basilica there is a relic that is supposed to contain the blood of Christ. According to tradition, the blood was collected by St. Longinus, the soldier who pierced his side and preserved in two golden chalices.
