The Church of San Ferdinando overlooks Piazza Trieste and Trento, in the square that once took its name. Originally dedicated to St. Francis Xavier, the church was built thanks to the funding of the woman Catalina Zunica de la Cerda y Sandovan, wife of the Viceroy Count of Lemos. Work on the church began in 1628 on a project by the architect Giovan Giacomo di Conforto and continued with Cosimo Fanzago who modernized the structure. The façade is completely Fanzaghian. Inside we find various works, including frescoes by Paolo De Matteis, satue and sculptures by Antonio Vaccaro and the Sepulchre of Lucia Migliaccio sculpted by Tito Angelini.
