Recently included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, the Venetian Walls (also known as Venetians) of Bergamo are an unmissable attraction of the city. Located in the upper part, the walls are 5 km long and are currently reliving a golden age, thanks to a painstaking cleaning and maintenance work by volunteers. The Venetian Walls were erected in the sixteenth century by the Republic of Venice with the aim of defending the city from enemy attacks; today, they offer a breathtaking view not only of the whole of Bergamo, but also of the neighboring " Milan.
