Museum of Fire and Measure
The space to house the heterogeneous material of the collection has been set up in the portion of a building located near the historical centre of Jesi, partly at country level and partly in the basement, whose surface is about 130 square metres, distributed on a single level and with an average height of 4 metres. The project was born from the idea of creating in the main hall a path in bands starting from the physical center of the circular sector, placed at the intersection of the perpendicular rays, from which originate the guidelines of the two glass display walls that can be crossed, which connect and support the parallel inside the curvilinear perimeter of the building, which also consists of a continuous series of display cases.
The inauguration of the structure took place on February 24th during the event ‘Meeting of the City of Jesi with the Fire Brigade’, dedicated to the Prefect Alberto Giombini, born in Jesi and unanimously recognized as the creator of the National Fire Department. Among the pieces on display, fire extinguishers of various shapes and times from all over the world, compasses of the eighteenth century, ammeters, voltmeters, other measuring instruments and a precious bicycle of the Fire Brigade of 1923.
