The Museo Diffuso della Resistenza, set up in the evocative underground rooms of the Palazzo dei Quartieri Militari, evokes daily life during the war, the German occupation, the Resistance and the return to democracy, through the images, sounds and voices of witnesses, presented in an original interactive installation.
The path does not follow a linear course, but rather suggests the exploration of a territory, which is revealed through the memory of its places. A symbolic underground network runs through the city and guides the visitor through an installation that makes different languages coexist: written and oral sources, photographs and films, testimonies and evocations.
The journey is divided into five stages: Living the everyday, Living under the bombs, Living under the regime, Living under the occupation and Living Free. Each stage consists of the juxtaposition of two interviews, in which the main theme is told by witnesses through the memory of their personal experiences; each pair of interviews is accompanied by a montage of images selected from films and documentaries of the time.
