Avaz Tower is perhaps the only skyscraper in the city and stands out with its 176 meters high.It is the headquarters of Dnevni avaz, a Bosnian newspaper company. The tower is located in the city district of Marijin Dvor, the central municipality of Sarajevo.
Construction began in 2006 and was completed two years later, in 2008. The tower is distinguished by its twisted facade.
It is currently the tallest skyscraper in the former Yugoslavia and in 2009, the famous German company Schüco chose the tower as one of the 10 most beautiful buildings in the world.
Reached by a pleasant 20-minute walk from the Bascarsija, the Tower can be visited and its top reached by a glass-walled elevator. Once at the top, you can enjoy a beautiful view of the city, but also enjoy a coffee or a beer at the bar – restaurant located on the penultimate floor.
