The neoclassical church was built in 1818 on the design of the architect Pietro Nobile from Trieste, in place of the ancient Romanesque church built outside the city walls in the thirteenth century. Above the entrance portal you can admire a bas-relief depicting the handing over of the keys to Saint Peter.
