Shivaji Park is one of the largest parks in Mumbai and it is situated in Dadar. A popular hub for political and social meetings, this park holds great historical and cultural significance since before India got independence. Named after the heroic leader- Chhatrapati Shivaji, this park was established by the Mumbai Municipal Corporation in 1925, during the British regime. The British acknowledged this name, owing to Shivaji’s great command over the Marathi population. The park has a huge statue of Shivaji leading the way with his one arm outstretched.
