Reaching Collelungo beach is not easy, but the effort pays off with a sandy beach and a crystal clear sea surrounded by wild nature. The stretch of coast takes its name from the tower built by the Sienese during the Renaissance and is located in the heart of the Maremma Park. Collelungo beach can only be reached on foot or by bicycle (possibly on horseback). The route on two wheels is 19 km long and must be booked online or purchased at the Alberese Visitor Centre. Access is limited to a maximum of 150 people per day. Reservation is also required for one of the two walking itineraries, the "A2 Le Torri" trekking route, which runs inside the park for just over 7 km. The second itinerary is free and runs along the seafront starting from the beach of Marina di Alberese. The Collelungo coastline is a real oasis of peace and it is not uncommon to spot wild animals such as foxes or come across small herds lying in the sun.
