Golling Castle

Golling Castle is located on a strategically important location along the Salzach river. There were probably a watchtower already in the Roman times. Built into the rocks on the side of a hill in the heart of the village of Golling, It was built in the 13th century. Later it was owned by the Archbishop of Salzburg. Golling Castle Museum invites visitors of all ages to take a fascinating trip back into the history of Golling and the surrounding area.
