Da Lat is the capital of Lam Dong province in central Vietnam, set on a plateau at an altitude of 1475 meters and about 300 kilometers from Ho Chi Minh City. With a population of just under 200,000, the town is a great place to escape the heat and is the perfect destination during December and January. The two months are also the time when the Flower Festival is held, one of the Vietnamese city’s key events.
Nicknamed Little Paris, the city thanks to its climate and its architectural beauty has been able to attract tourists also for its colonial imprints, still visible today. Da Lat is famous for the wide variety of flowers, vegetables and fruits from its surrounding farmlands. The city is also surrounded by countless natural and cultural sites, including beautiful landscapes, evergreen forests, and small villages.
