The Museo della Calzatura "Cav. V. Andolfi" preserves and exhibits a rich collection of shoes, donated by private individuals and companies in the sector, together with machinery, shapes and tools for the processing of footwear, offering visitors a picture of the productive history of the town of Sant’Elpidio a Mare in the territorial context (characterized by a real vocation for the manufacture of the "shoe") and the history of costume.
The exhibition, organized in three sections through the five rooms of the museum, illustrates the transformations that footwear has undergone, telling of that "material" production, generated over time by manufacturing and the footwear industry, and of that "immaterial" production, consisting of knowledge of production processes, that is to say of the "know-how" of quality shoes in a city and in a territory where a treasure trove of knowledge has been enriched waiting for an explosion and a conversion from the artisan dimension to that of an industrial district.
