The Museo Civico Il Correggio is located on the main floor of the Palazzo dei Principi. It exhibits archaeological finds from the Correggio area, coins from the Correggio mint, works of art from the city and the territory including paintings by Andrea Mantegna, Geminiano Benzoni, Girolamo Donnini, Mattia Preti, Baldassarre Aloisi known as Galanino, Francesco Madonnina, Mauro Soderini, Luigi Asioli, Adeodato Malatesta, Vincenzo Vela and a collection of Flemish tapestries from the 17th century. The Treasure of S. Giuseppe" from the church of the same name and a mosaic by Arminio Zuccato (on loan from the Convitto Nazionale " Rinaldo Corso").
It also preserves two paintings attributed to Correggio ("Face of Christ" and "Pietà") and a two-sided drawing of the same artist’s hand (property of Fondazione Il Correggio).
