Camogli and the beautiful Paradise Gulf

Camogli is a beautiful village that overlooks the Paradise Gulf, in the Ligurian Riviera di Levante. A typical seaside village characterized by tall houses painted with bright colors that fascinate the eye. A romantic place, immersed in a magnificent natural setting, which for centuries has enchanted tourists from all over the world in search of relaxation, culture, sea and good food. Its historic center and the ancient castle perched on the sea, make it a romantic town rich in culture and ancient tradition, romantic setting and starting point for routes in the Park of Portofino. You will be enchanted by the beauty of the facades painted in pastel colours of the buildings that close the sea promenade. The beaches are equipped and made of pebbles, those that are also used for the traditional black and white risseu on the churchyards: the one of the Basilica of Santa Maria Assunta in Camogli is very beautiful to see. The Dragonara Castle is an ancient castle on the sea, built on the rocks overlooking the sea during the period of the Saracen invasions. A few steps away is the pier from which ferries depart for wonderful trips on the sea. Every year on the second Sunday in May there is the Fish Festival, with frying in the Guinness pan. On the first Sunday in August, the Stella Maris Festival is held: in the evening, thousands of small candles are lit and left floating on the waves to pay homage to the Madonna. Here, delicate and delicious salted anchovies are prepared. Between Camogli and Punta Chiappa is the Tonnarella di Camogli, one of the oldest in Italy, one of the few still in operation.
