From a spur of limestone rocks, the Rocca Borromeo of Angera dominates the southern part of the Verbano area. The fortified medieval building contains evidence of ancient times, which are recalled throughout the Hall of Justice, with its exceptional cycle of frescoes from the 12th century, the Historical Room and the Castellana Tower, from which there is an extraordinary panorama. Inside the Rocca you can visit the Museum of Dolls and Toys, today the most important in Europe, the Medieval Garden and the Ala Scaligera which hosts temporary exhibitions and events.
