The park offers and organizes a wide range of daily excursions with different themes and expert guides. You can enjoy the silence of the forest or the magic of the sunset, listen to the tales of the lives of shepherds and admire the animals of the park. There are also hikes lasting several days across ancient forests and winding mountain paths. But before leaving this charming territory, you simply have to take a trip to the Sagittario Valley across the breathtaking landscape of the Sagittario Gully on a route that passes the rock and valley of Scanno towards Sulmona and beyond the stunning Scanno Lake. Just outside the borders of the Abruzzo Park, the River Sagittario has created a spectacular canyon between the cliffs. It is a natural regional reserve, an oasis of the WWF, on the slopes of the Marcello cliff, and extends as far as the municipality of Cocullo, a town which hosts a passionate religious festival, complete with serpents and utterly unique. The reserve is a paradise for bears, wolves and a rare species of Italian hare. Golden eagles and peregrine falcons nest here and the poetic Sagittario centaurea blooms, a flower with an intense shade of pink which is only found in this particular habitat.
