The Wörthersee is a beautiful lake in southern Austria, between the two cities of Klagenfurt (east) and Velden (west), a few kilometres from the Italian border. The Wörthersee is the biggest lake in Carinthia.
Numerous resorts around the lake offer many possibilities for recreation, relaxation and sport, from swimming to all kinds of water sports. In Velden there is also a casino. A wonderful view of the entire lake can be enjoyed from the viewing platform on the Pyramidenkogel mountain, 400 m above the lake. Families with children should not miss a visit to Minimundus, a miniature world with models of monuments from all over the world on a scale of 1:25, located between Klagenfurt and Wörthersee.
