The Silver Cave is located in an area of Cape Palinuro looking south, called Cala Lanterna, bordered by Punta Spartivento and Punta Mammone. The Silver Cave takes its name from an intense silver coloration that is reflected in the water. This phenomenon is generated by the mixing of sea water, with a strong blue hue, with the denser sulphurous water. This cavity is characterized by the presence of at least two sulphurous springs connected to deep cracks.
