The Salinella Lake is a small coastal lake situated in the Stornara Nature Reserve.
The lake, with its 140 hectares, is the last wetland of the Ionian arc.
The water is brackish due to contamination with seawater, and has a depth of no more than two metres. Despite its small size, the lake boasts the presence of rare plant and animal species, mainly birds.
To date the lake can only be visited in summer, and in order to access the lake it is necessary to cross (upon authorization) an area of private property. Alternatively it is possible to visit it from the Lucanian side, from the municipality of Bernalda.
