The Museum of Central Finland serves as the city museum of Jyväskylä and the provincial museum of Central Finland. This white plastered building was completed in 1961, in accordance with Aalto’s designs. The museum was renovated and an extension was added between 1988 and 1990, designed by Alvar Aalto & Co, Architects. Since then, the overall appearance and environment of the building have changed considerably.
