The Grachtenhuis is an extraordinary museum located along one of Amsterdam’s most beautiful and elegant canals, the Herengracht canal. This museum presents the history of the canal belt with high-quality 3-D animations, scale models, projections and an interactive multimedia exhibition. The museum was opened in 2011, following the inclusion of the Amsterdam Canal Belt in the UNESCO World Heritage List. The building that houses the museum is also a famous place where many famous people have lived.1663 the building located in Herengracht 386 was inhabited by wealthy bankers and merchants.
