Smoo Cave is a large and very long cave criss-crossed by fresh and sea water located in Durness, Scotland. At 200 feet long, 130 feet wide and 50 feet high, it is rich in wildlife and has a distinctive geological make-up.
Located about a mile east of the town of Durness, the cave can be explored by boat or via the path from the car park on the cliffs. The cave boasts, as a sea cave, one of the largest entrances in Britain (50 feet high) and is illuminated inside.
A must-see if you’re anywhere near Scotland’s north coast.
