The Segantini Museum is located about 10 minutes’ walk from the centre in a building designed by the architect Nicolaus Hartmann. Here you can find the largest collection of works by the Divisionist painter created during both the Italian and Swiss periods.
Giovanni Segantini (1858 – 1899), Italian painter and one of the greatest representatives of Divisionism, who, although he was originally from Trentino, chose to spend the last years of his life in these valleys, from which he took great inspiration for his creations. The artist died prematurely at the age of 42.
