Raganello and the Devil’s Bridge

The bridge is located in the final part of the low gorges of the Raganello torrent, it was built with a single donkey-backed arch at an altitude of 260 m. sl.m. on Raganello, it is a daring work of engineering and an excellent observation post. Legend has it that it was a landowner who asked the Devil to build a bridge over the stream, in exchange for the soul of the first human being to cross the bridge. The Devil accepted and in a night of storm he built the bridge that the next morning stood in all its majesty of its 36 meters. At that point the devil stood waiting for the first unlucky man to cross the bridge, but the cunning man made a sheep cross the bridge when the devil realized he cursed the bridge and tried to destroy it, but he failed because he had built it too well, among the laughter of man the devil fell into the stream.
