In Lanzarote, the coast near Yaiza is full of contrasts and gives rise to incredible landscapes. Like that of the Charco de los Clicos, which has been declared a Nature Reserve. Inside a volcanic crater, an emerald green lake has formed, whose colour is caused by the concentration of algae found on the bottom. It is divided from the sea by a tongue of black volcanic sand, known as El Golfo beach, in pleasant contrast to the flaming cliffs all around.
The beach can be reached by car and shows its best towards the end of the day, when the sea is calm and the sunset begins.
