Nidaros Cathedral is one of Norway’s most important medieval churches and is located in the heart of Trondheim in the Trøndelag region. The cathedral was built in 1070 and was used as the coronation place for Norwegian kings from the 13th century until 1906.The cathedral is famous for its Gothic architecture and decorative details, including numerous sculptures, stained glass windows, and frescoes. The west portal is one of the highlights of the building, with its bas-reliefs representing scenes from the Bible and Norwegian history.Inside the cathedral are numerous side chapels and altars, as well as the tomb of St. Olav, the patron saint of Norway.
