The Risorgimento Museum of Asti is located on the ground floor of the building and is the result of donations from families who had members who fought for the Risorgimento cause. There are ovals depicting historical figures and paintings depicting the most important battles of the Risorgimento epic. These belong to the first nucleus wanted by the Ottolenghi. The characters depicted were painted by the Asti painter Paolo Arri (1868-1939) and represent politicians, philosophers, patriots, literary poets and portraits of the Savoy, among which we remember Camillo Benso Conte di Cavour, Angelo Brofferio, Giuseppe Garibaldi. The battles were performed by the painters Luigi Morgari (1857 – 1935), Raffaele Pontremoli (1832 – 1905) and Felice Cerruti Bauduc (1818 – 1896), the latter also the author of paintings for the Museum of the Risorgimento in Turin.
There is also a collection of banners and flags of the Asti Corporations and Garibaldi’s veterans from Asti, none of which is in keeping with Carlo Alberto. The Museum collects the uniform of the major Garibaldi Orazio Dogliotti, commander of the artillery at the Battle of Bezzecca in 1866 and the travel box of Vincenzo Gioberti when he appeared before Pope Pius IX to intercede for Italian independence.
