The American Museum of Natural History is one of the most famous and visited museums in New York City and one of the most important natural history museums in the world. The museum has 45 permanent rooms, as well as numerous temporary exhibitions. Almost all kinds of natural wonders are on display in the rooms, but the museum is particularly famous for its remarkable collection of dinosaur skeletons, the Ahnighito meteorite (the largest in the world), the "star of India" sapphire (also the largest in the world) and the modern Rose Center for Earth and Space.
