We can only start this short list with the Pinte Besson, in Rue de l’Ale 4. More than a restaurant, it is a real institution, a "thing to see" beyond being one of the best places to eat in the city, especially when it comes to fondue. Founded in 1780, it is the oldest bistro in Lausanne and probably the most charming, with its vaulted ceiling, tables and wood panelling. And an intense smell of cheese that, as soon as you enter, will inebriate your nose. For lovers of the genre, it will be like entering the gateway to paradise. Prices are on average with Swiss ones, so be prepared to spend 80/90 francs for a dinner for two.
The place is small and always super full, especially on weekends: booking is a must.
Closed on Sundays.
