The hermitage of Cetrella can be reached after a spectacular walk through the woods of Capri overlooking the sea. Built on a precipice overlooking Marina Piccola, it dates back to the 15th century. It is a place which induces peace and contemplation, and for this reason it is necessary to find out in advance how to get there and be discreet during the visit. On the ground floor is the church with the refectory and kitchen. The former cells of the friars are on the first floor. At the end of the corridor you come out on a natural terrace that seems suspended in the void. From here it is possible to be enchanted by a breathtaking view of Marina Grande, Monte Tiberio, Marina Piccola and the Faraglioni rocks, the Sorrento Coast and, on clear days, even the Gulf of Salerno and the Amalfi Coast, the inland mountains of the Salerno area and the coast southwards, as far as the Punta Licosa lighthouse.
