In 1991 the museum was inaugurated by the Municipality of Bergamo, with the help of the Association for the Modern and Contemporary Art Gallery of Bergamo.
With its 1500 square meters of exhibition space, the structure is divided into four sections: the Manzù Collection, the Spajani Collection, the Stucchi Collection and finally the Kaleidoscope Room.
The collection includes works made in the twentieth century, medals, etchings, engravings by Giovanni Fattori and Carlo Carrà, an important archive of about 600 photographs and industrial design works.
