Castel Fahlburg or Castel Valle Built in the 13th century, Castel Fahlburg on Monte di Mezzo in Prissiano was initially a defensive fortress. The building was in possession of the Lords von Zobel and known as "Turm zu Vall" (Turm = tower). It was probably a tower with a simple dwelling. At the end of the 16th century Jakob Andrä von Brandis bought the fortress and in 1615 completely transformed it into a Renaissance castle. Fahlburg Castle served as summer residence of the Counts von Brandis and as seat of the court.
The Renaissance elements are still well preserved today: inside the castle there are old tiled stoves, wooden ceilings and beautiful masterpieces by the famous painter Stefan Kessler. A two-storey chapel is also part of the structure.
