Orto Botanico Città Studi- University of Milan is a didactic and experimental garden that occupies the area of an abandoned farmhouse dating back to the 16th century, still called "Cascina Rosa". The name of this ancient farmhouse comes from a family of Spanish marquises, the Rosales, who bought it in the 17th century. The new Botanical Garden covers an area of 25 thousand square meters and contains many species of plants, both native and exotic, some of which come from the old botanical garden in Via Colombo.
