Zagare Bay

This fantastic bay in the south coast of Gargano, between Mattinata and Vieste, takes its name from the fragrant orange blossoms. The orange blossoms are the flowers of the brides according to the ancient custom of the knights to give orange blossoms to their brides to embellish the wedding dress on their wedding day has been handed down over the centuries until today. The stacks of Baia delle Zagare, are so beautiful and famous, that they have become one of the most important symbols of the natural beauty of all Puglia. They are made of white and dazzling white stone, as well as rocks overhanging the sea that enclose the Bay of the Zagare. One of the two stacks in particular, is striking for its almost perfect arch shape. It seems almost to have been carved by the hands of an experienced artist and for this reason said Magic Arch.
