The park of Miramare Castle is a must for nature lovers: the Marine Reserve of Miramare, established in 1986 by the Ministry of the Environment and managed by the WWF. The protected area, 30 hectares where a regime of integral protection is in force, is situated at the foot of the Miramare promontory, between the tourist port of Grignano and the white cliffs of the Barcola Riviera. In the Visitor Centre, open all year round, WWF volunteers reveal all the secrets of the Marine Reserve, while diving enthusiasts can book guided underwater tours to admire the fish and the seabed.
