Village of Sarsina

Situated on the Tuscan-Romagna Apennines, 35 kilometres far from Cesena and 50 kilometres far from Forlì, Sarsina rises just in the heart of the Savio Valley, in a well-preserved territory gathering ancient forests, woods, solitary valleys, mountains and small lakes. Not to be missed is the National Archaeological Museum, one of the most important in northern Italy. Inside the old town you can admire many archaeological finds and monuments of the Roman era: the Mausoleum of Obulacco, the Roman forum, the excavations of Via IV Novembre, the votive temple of Cesio Sabino and the house of Tito Maccio Plauto. They deserve a visit also the basilica cathedral and the thaumaturgic "chain" in it guarded, the Museum of sacred art and the village castle of Calbano. From the naturalistic point of view there are some excellences such as the Park of the Marmitte dei Giganti, and the lake of Quarto. Space to the flavors, with the Easter loaf, hams, sausage mad and Bustrengo, typical sweet of rural tradition, prepared especially on holidays or Sundays, using stale bread and other ingredients in the pantry, without throwing anything away!
