The typical Venetian torta putana is a sweet. It is a reuse recipe that involves the use of stale bread left over previously soaked in milk, enriched with raisins, pine nuts, liqueur and lemon and orange peel. Excellent to serve warm with a good sweet wine.
The interpretation of the name of this cake is controversial. It would be better to say, if there is no doubt about the derivation from "putta", it is uncertain whether the girl in question is morigerous or not.
