Verucchio is a charming medieval town in the province of Rimini, a few kilometres from the coast, perched on the Apennines along the Marecchia Valley. It borders the Republic of San Marino, Montefeltro and Torriana.
Verucchio has two fortresses, one dominating the hinterland, the other looking towards the sea, both built in the 13th century, one initially belonging to the Passarello family, the other to the Malatesta family. Sigismondo then also took possession of the Rocca dei Passarello, which he restored and incorporated into his possessions in 1448.
Verucchio is a charming medieval village, rich in history and evidence of the past (since the Villanovan era), where you can breathe an enchanted atmosphere.
