URHO KEKKONEN MUSEUM TAMMINIEMI Enjoy a glimpse of life in the 1970s and learn about Finland’s post-war history at Tamminiemi Villa, a beautiful park estate that was President Urho Kekkonen’s official residence during his term in office.Recently reopened after an extensive renovation project that took two and a half years, Tamminiemi Villa features 1970s interiors, conserved using state-of-the-art methods, in a quaint setting that exemplifies Art Nouveau architecture.The exhibitions and guided tours cover not only the 25-year term of President Urho Kekkonen, but also the earlier periods when the villa was home to Risto Ryti and C. G. Mannerheim during their presidencies. Tamminiemi Villa’s kitchen areas are now newly open to the public, in addition to all the rooms that were part of the museum prior to its temporary closure.
