What is an ecomuseum? It is an idea, a dream that the homonymous Association, founded in 2004, strongly wanted to realize in order to give the right value to the cultural and naturalistic heritage of the territory crossed by the Tiber river.
Without the walls of a real museum, since it covers an area between the municipalities of Perugia and Umbertide, the ecomuseum contains all the historical, cultural and natural memory of these areas with the aim of protecting and promoting it.
The heart of this project is the small village of Pretola near Perugia, which also houses the documentation centre where all the material useful for studying and promoting the culture born along the banks of the Tiber and the river ecosystem is collected.
