The Carlo Schmidl Theatre Museum documents the theatrical and musical history in Trieste over the last two centuries, with a collection of posters, photographs, costumes and the history of the theatre buildings. Of particular interest is the collection of musical instruments, including fortepiano, harmonium, and mechanical instruments such as the autopiano. The museum also has an impressive library and archive of international importance, including a large collection of posters and programmes.
