The Wollomombi Falls is a plunge waterfall found within the Oxley Wild Rivers National Park. It is one of the highest waterfalls in Australia, dropping an impressive 228m (750ft) into the stunning Wollomombi Gorge. Whilst often covered in mist, the falls offer visitors spectacular views, particularly after heavy rain in the area increases water flow.
The most popular walk (‘Wollomombi Walk’) offers spectacular views of the gorge from Chandler Lookout. The walk starts along the north side of the gorge rim, and slowly meanders down to the base of the gorge. At the base, cross the river and ascend to the southern rim, continuing on until Chandler Lookout. This route (1.5km / 0.93km) will take approximately 1.5 hours return.
