The Kansas City Library has a feature that is probably unique in the world for this type of building. Its structure is in fact immediately recognizable from the outside due to the presence of large panels designed to reproduce the backs of the covers of some of the world’s most widely read and well-known books. Among the titles chosen for the outer perimeter of the Kansas City Public Library are "The Lord of the Rings" by J. R. R. Tolkien, "A Tale of Two Cities" by Charles Dickens and "Charlotte’s Web" by E. B. White.
Inside the library there are spaces dedicated to children, so that the love of books and reading can be born from an early age.
