Bronze statue of the famous romantic poet Karel Hynek Mácha, born in the house All’Aquila Bianca, in the district of Újezd. The statue is located on the Petřín hill, a large hill, lying along the left bank of the Vltava River, with a small Eiffel tower at its peak.
It is a place of pilgrimage for all lovers, especially on the first of May. The couples come here mainly for the statue of the Czech romantic poet Karel Hynek Mácha, but also for the many gardens, orchards and hidden corners that are real invitations to exchange furtive kisses…
Investigating the history of this writer-poet, Karel Hynek Mácha, unfortunately died very young, at only 26 years of age. Also known as a pessimistic poet, in his most important work – Máj – next to the romantic themes of love and passion, the tragic story of a family (the bandit Vilém kills his adversary in love – the beloved Jarmila- who discovers he is his father and is sentenced to death).
Mácha lays the foundations of modern Czech and is studied in all local schools.
