The Railway Museum of Trieste Campo Marzio was born thanks to a group of enthusiasts who for years volunteered their work, organizing what is now the Railway Museum. The entrance is in Via Giulio Cesare, on the eastern side of the station, which architecturally is the most interesting side. The patrimony of memories and objects of the railway history of Venezia Giulia is exposed in the former departure area, in severe environments, but of great elegance also in the details and in the finishings. Historical wagons and locomotives are parked on the station tracks; some trams of the city’s urban service are also part of the museum collection.
