The picturesque village of Sant’Angelo d’Ischia

Sant’Angelo d’Ischia, constitutes the sea front of the municipality of Serrara Fontana and is also its best known resort. The territory of Sant’Angelo d’Ischia stretches along the entire arc of the Maronti and Cava Grado coastline, right in front of the islet connected to the town by a thin strip of land known as Isthmus, and climbs the tuff ridge of the mountain where the old fishermen’s cottages leaning against each other and largely now replaced by guesthouses and hotels, alternate with terraces and balconies overlooking a magnificent panorama. The heart of the town, a renowned destination for Italian and international tourism, is the famous Piazzetta, open to the beach and the quay of the small harbor, where small stores and luxurious boutiques, restaurants and bars are concentrated and thronged with tourists in the evening. On the upper part of the islet called the "Tower" once stood a small church where the cult of the Archangel St. Michael, the patron angel who, it seems gave the village its name, was established. On the right side of the village, on the other hand, past the parish church, one arrives at Cava Petrelle, where the famous Fumarole are found and where at the edge of the sand a hard-boiled egg is cooked in less than a minute. Sant’angelo d’Ischia is actually rich in itineraries and among them with a pleasant boat ride is definitely the Bay of Sorgeto that represents a true and typical example of natural Thermalism, In fact it encloses among its sclogli the characteristic of having hot water even in the winter months.
