The Pavia Museum of the Italian Risorgimento – now part of the Civic Museums, located in the Castello Visconteo, consists of three large rooms:
After a mention of the Hapsburg domination, the first room is dedicated to the French years and the Lombard Veneto Kingdom.
The second room is entirely dedicated to the Cairoli family, with the reconstruction of the living room, where the more personal, familiar, intimate dimension alternated with the political one.
the third room opens with uniforms, weapons, equipment of the different armies. The Garibaldi phenomenon, with the construction of his myth, constitutes another deepening, as well as the documents related to the history of the museum itself are a reflection on the nature of the institution and the interpretations of the Risorgimento.
