The "Parenzana – the road of health and friendship" runs along the old narrow-gauge railway line, which from 1902 to 1935 connected Trieste and Poreč with the interior of the Istrian peninsula along a 23 km long route. The route offers numerous opportunities for physical activity and is ideal for hikers, cyclists and runners. Very close to the sea, winding through valleys and hills, passing through towns and villages, passing vineyards, olive groves and several tunnels. Valeta tunnel, 550 m long and located between Strunjan and Portorož, is the best known.
